This is just the beginning. The book, The Importance of Healing, is the first step.
Healing is such a large and, unfortunately, controversial subject. If I were to teach healing in a church, it would take years. If I were to teach a seminar, it would take maybe two days, but I still wonder if I could do it justice. But with the book, people can read and study at their leisure. It takes time for these things to soak in.
I would like to make myself available for ministry opportunities, whether preaching sermons, teaching classes, or giving seminars. I am still intersted in becoming a pastor even, but I suspect this book could lead to more outside engagements.
I have many other books in the planning stages. I have one book that shows how the history of the nation Israel parallels the history of the individual who believes in Christ. The different historical books of the Old Testament show the various stages in growth or direction in a person's life, forming a road map. It will tell you where you are in your life, how you got there, and what is the next step. Plus, so much of the Old Testament content will shed light on your experience today as a believer. This book is about 1/3 completed.
I have a book on controversial essays planned. There are a number of topics which people don't talk about much but should. I am not sure in every case that I have the answer, but I have enough evidence to question some of the established positions and to suggest that maybe there is another answer.
I want to do books encouraging people to study the Bible in the original languages. Seminaries had added so many subjects and majors over the years that the languages have received less emphasis, and the students feel they have less time to spend on them. I hope to change that.
I want to do something like a devotional book but not quite. Over the years, I have been greatly pressed for time and my Bible studies have not always been what I would have wanted. As well as my language studies. I want to bring together in a book all the passages of the Bible which I consider more important(?) than the rest. I know that doesn't sound right, but if I am pressed for time on a daily basis, I may want to skip I Chronicles and probably most of Leviticus. And if I want to study Greek and Hebrew in my limited time, I probably don't want to study Job. Too many uncommon words in a text where you just want the broad sweep of the story. This book would have all the passages that people tend to underline and come back to. There would be practical, insightful comments and maybe in another edition, helps on the Greek and Hebrew for the more serious students.
